Food Prime

FoodPrime is a service that allows members of a community to interact for the purpose of mutual benefit. It has features that let its users post Offers that is claimable by other users that live within the same community. FoodPrime was founded as a solution to the problem of hunger and the challenge of food waste.

To use FoodPrime, you need an internet enabled mobile phone and FoodPrime Mobile App. Once you joined the FoodPrime Community, you can claim Offers made by people around you. You can also post your Offers.

Requests

Request is a feature that let you tell other FoodPrime users that you are hungry.

Request can be seen by all users within two kilometres of your location.

1. Click or tap on the add icon on the Request tab
2. Enter your location
3. Click on "Add Request"

Messaging

FoodPrime message feature allows you to privately communicate with other users that claimed your offer. You will also use the message feature to communicate with other users that intend to send you an offer when you post a request.

Notification

You will be notified when:
1. A user claims your offer
2. A user wants to send you an offer
3. You receive a new message

Offers

An offer on FoodPrime is an uncooked or cooked food item that is ready to be given out at no cost to the recipient.

Any registered user on the FoodPrime Mobile App who has surplus or left-over food (cooked and uncooked) and is ready to do away with it at no cost can post an Offer.

Your offers are seen by any member of the FoodPrime community within two kilometres of your location.

Any food item, either cooked or uncooked can be added to FoodPrime’s Offers. These include but not limited to cereals, grains, roots and tubers, vegetables, nuts, seeds, fruits, animal foods such as dairy product, eggs, meat, honey, fish and seafood.

All offers on FoodPrime Mobile App are claimable and are ready to be given out at no cost. FoodPrime does not pay its users for posting an Offer.

There is no limit to the number of items a user can swap in a day.

There is no limit on the number of clicks on an offer once it is added to Swap list.

There is no limit on the number of claims you can make on food items on the Swap list.

1. Select the offer you intend to claim, a more detailed description of the offer is displayed.
2. Click on “Claim Offer” to send a claim to the user who posted the offer. The user can then arrange with you for pick-up via private messages.

To post an Offer:

1. Click or tap on the add icon on the Offers tab
2. Upload an image of your offer
3. Enter the details of your offer in “Describe your Offer” box
4. Select the status of your offer (cooked or Uncooked)
5. Input the offer count
6. Describe your location
7. Click on “Post Offer”

To Claim and Swap an Offer:

1. Select the offer you intend to exchange your food item(s) with , a more detailed description of the offer is displayed.
2. Ensure you have the items the user you are swapping with want in return.
3. Click on “Claim and Swap” to send a claim to the user who posted the offer. The user can then arrange with you for swap location via private messages.

Swap

Swap on FoodPrime is are uncooked, cooked, sealed or unsealed food items that is intended to be exchanged for other food items with other users on FoodPrime.

Any registered user on the FoodPrime Mobile App who has food items (cooked/uncooked, sealed/unsealed) and is ready to give it out in exchange for other items can add items to Swap.

Your offers are seen by any member of the FoodPrime community within two kilometres of your location.

Any food item, either cooked or uncooked, sealed or unsealed can be added to FoodPrime’s Swap. This include but not limited to cereals, grains, roots and tubers, vegetables, nuts, seeds, fruits, beverages, animal foods such as dairy product, eggs, meat, honey, fish and seafood.

All offers on Swap list are claimable and are ready to be given out in exchange for other food items. No money changes hands. FoodPrime does not pay its users for swapping items on its platform.

To add to Swap list:
1. Click or tap on the add icon on the SWAP tab
2. Upload an image of your offer
3. Enter the details of your offer in “Describe your Offer” box
4. Select the status of your offer (cooked or Uncooked)
5. Describe what you want (in exchange for your offer)
6. Describe your location
7. Click on “Add to Swap”

Reporting Abuse

To report abuse by other users:
1. Go to the user’s profile by clicking on the user’s name
2. Click on “Report User” button on the user’s profile
3. Enter your complaint in the box provided.
4. Click on send
