FoodPrime’s Feeding Tomorrow Project is a partnership with restaurants, hotels, and farms that allows FoodPrime divert all perfectly edible but unsold food and snacks – that would have otherwise been thrown to waste – to the tables of those that need them.
Report showed that Nigeria’s rate of severe acute malnutrition – also known as severe wasting – is the second highest in the world at around two (2) million children each year. This means that one in ten of all severely wasted children worldwide live in Nigeria. Seven (7) percent of women of childbearing age also suffer from acute malnutrition according to UNICEF.
It is against this backdrop that the Feeding Tomorrow project was started. This project, aimed at improving nutrition and reducing childhood hunger in Nigeria will see us collecting unsold food and snacks from restaurant, hotels and farms and distributing them to orphanages in Ibadan, Nigeria every day.
